The humps are Islamorada's ace card: seamounts that force current upward and stack bait, tuna, amberjack, and everything that eats them. Blackfin hold there every month of the year, which makes this the most reliable offshore fight in the Keys.
We fish them with live bait and vertical jigs, and when the school comes up behind the boat the water boils. Blackfin pull far above their weight, and fresh tuna handed to you in a bag at the dock is a different food than anything you have bought in a store.
